The Beginning

The founder of Southern Engineering, Steve Dale, comes from a long line of incredibly talented engineers. A lineage including a clock maker (his great granddad, Montague William Pearce) with work done for the royal family and repairs to big ben, His grandfather and father, both of whom gained recognition with their own companies (Dale Engineering and SD Engineering respectively), have inspired him to dedicate his life to upholding the family legacy by excelling as an exceptional engineer himself..

With a wealth of knowledge to draw from and a childhood spent building and riding bikes in his father's workshop, there was only ever one path to follow..​​

Workshop Facilities

Our fully equipped workshop has rapidly grown into a hub that can tackle any engineering challenge, with plans for further expansion to meet future needs.

 

We offer a variety of milling machines, lathes, brake presses, and welders to handle most fabrication tasks, while our swaging press and specialized equipment enable us to produce wire ropes, lifting chains, and slings for the lifting industry.

 

Our stores are stocked with shackles, eyebolts, harnesses, and other lifting gear, all available for same-day dispatch or collection.

On-site services include LOLER inspections, load testing, and equipment installations ranging from swing jibs and gantries to security grills. We offer steel and aluminium welding using a dedicated mobile unit equipped with a 4x4 vehicle and generator for hard-to-reach locations. Additionally, we provide servicing and repairs for machinery, plant equipment, conveyors, winch, and crane systems.
